Pakistan Army on Sunday announced to have launched a major anti-terrorist operation in tribal areas of Rajgal and Shawwal to flush out Daesh militants attempting to take hold in the Khyber Agency.

Turning to Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, the ISPR Chief said 46 major operations and over 9,000 intelligence based operations were launched, while 10707 joint check posts were established across Pakistan.

While ghafoor said that the IG has a strong network in Pakistan, however, said the military, the Islamists are strengthening their position in Afghanistan, although IG there is still not as powerful as in the middle East.

Pakistan is seeking support from Afghanistan to control the border but Ghafoor made it clear that it will not allow "foreign boots on the ground" in its territory.

The DG ISPR informed that the valley, next to the Afghan border, is being used by Daesh and other local militant groups.

Codenamed Khyber-4, the military operation will target militant hideouts in what Major General Asif Ghafoor called "the most critical area in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata)".

Ghafoor stated that terrorists are targeting easy targets.

He said about 500 native families of Rajgal had been living in other areas as Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) due to the presence of the terrorists.

Asif Ghafoor said that about 500 families had been living in this area, which are now staying at safer places as Temporarily Displaced Persons. "We will be able to check cross-border movement of terrorists, and our coordination with Afghanistan in this regard is ongoing", he said, as is the fencing of the border which is in its first phase.

"We are building peace in our country brick by brick and moving from relative stability towards enduring peace". "There is no direct army involvement in the JIT" he asserted, adding that the "Pakistan Army will continue playing its role for the security of Pakistan with other institutions".

DG-ISPR Maj Gen Ghafoor said that the Pakistan Army is a part of Pakistan and is working for the country's defence and everyone should respect the constitution.

When asked to comment on a "social media campaign against state institutions", he said "every person has freedom of expression, but any patriot Pakistani can not be part of any negative campaign against the army". "It is a sub-judice matter and the Supreme Court will make its decision in the case", he said. However, the investigation team had two members of Military Intelligence (MI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) and they honestly shoulder their duties.
