Ryan Phillippe hospitalized after breaking leg in 'freak accident'

The 42-year-old Shooter star said Monday on Twitter that he "required surgical attention" after injuring himself at a family outing.

Ryan Phillippe is now in the hospital after severely injuring his leg over the weekend and he's opening up about how it happened.

In the shot, Phillippe can be seen in a hospital bed with one leg wrapped and braced following surgery.

"I'm going to be ok & i appreciate your concern. -me", Phillippe wrote.

Phillippe responded to fan speculation that he hurt himself doing a stunt for his U.S. series Shooter, saying he wasn't anywhere near the set.
