Shaw's Homer Lifts Brewers Past Phillies 3-2

The Milwaukee Brewers scored eight runs in the second inning and went on to post a 9-6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in their series opener at Miller Park on Friday night.

Hellickson has suffered four losses during his nine-start winless drought and has settled for a no-decision in each of his last four outings, including a six-inning stint against Pittsburgh on July 6 in which he gave up three runs and five hits.

Maikel Franco finished with four hits and Odrubel Herrera hit his sixth home run of the season for Philadelphia, which has lost six of its last seven games. Travis Shaw leads the Brewers with 90 hits and 66 RBI while Domingo Santana and Orlando Arcia have combined for 173 hits and 83 RBI. The Phillies have allowed 12 runs in this series and three or more runs in seven of their last 11 games. While the Phillies are just 3-4 over his past seven starts, Nola has been rolling along. Jesus Aguilar is getting the start at first and hitting fifth against Jeremy Hellickson. Hellickson is 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA and 16 strikeouts in his career against the Brewers.
