Tebow unlikely to get September call-up — Mets GM

Tim Tebow is playing much better than anyone expected in Advanced-A ball with the St. Lucie Mets. They may have all been wrong.

It was his first walk-off homer since high school. He was batting only.220 in the low Class A level when called up.

It looked like and still does to some extent, appear to be that his promotion was either favoritism because he played in the National Football League or for publicity.

"I think it's awesome what he's doing". It just doesn't. Plain and simple.

In a year filled with ridiculous storylines for the Mets, perhaps the most insane of them all is now unfolding in Port St. Lucie.

Tebow's goal to make it to the major leagues is a race against time. Or maybe it's just pure dumb luck?

The Tortugas and Mets wrap up the three-game set at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The home run was caught on tape by St. Lucie Mets official scorer Bill Whitehead. "His teammates raced to home plate from the dugout and the bullpen, as he reached crossed home with the winning run".

"In high school, junior year", laughed Tebow.

However the referee, instead of paying heed to Griffiths' complaints, instead showed the forward a yellow card. The scoreline was okay, it could have been better but it gives us the advantage for the second leg".

Thanks to his collegiate success, Tebow ended up a first-round draft pick and was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 29th overall selection of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Although he's been back in baseball for almost a year now, the former Nease High School star admitted it's been a while since he's belted a walk-off shot.

Tebow primarily played special teams for the Jets, throwing only eight passes for the club in 2012. He has three home runs, an on-base percentage of.421 and is slugging.551.

Later, Tebow talked about his secret for going oppo. "I think it's great for him to believe in his dream and try to follow it, try to get to the big leagues". See it, let it get deep. "When you stay behind it, it goes the other way".

If only it were so easy for all baseball players.

And at this point, would it surprise anyone if New York's Labor Day giveaway is a Tebow bobblehead?

Then again Judge has 30 home runs this season and Tebow has six, so maybe that wouldn't be a good idea after all.

As he was while in the Fireflies' South Atlantic League, Tebow has been a hit among Florida State League fans, who flock to both home and away games to catch a glimpse of the former Heisman Trophy victor and two-time national champion with the Florida Gators.
