Xiaomi 5X Specifications & Pricing Info Revealed in New Leak

After gaining huge success of the Redmi 4, now it seems like the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is expected to launch the successor of its best-selling Redmi 4, which is rumoured to be called the "Redmi 5" in China pretty soon. Interestingly, as per the poster, instead of X1, the device will be called Xiaomi 5X. But, a new report making rounds on the web hints that the first smartphone under the Lanmi brand could be - Xiaomi 5X.

Xiaomi will launch its next generation Redmi lineup of smartphones next month which includes the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5X, Xiaomi Redmi 5A. And now, a new Xiaomi Mi 5X poster leaks officially with a price tag on it. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage.

As per Weibo listing, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will have a 5-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. It is said that the upcoming Xiaomi 5X could be a mid-ranged smartphone. Also, if the reports are correct, the Xiaomi 5X may arrive in two variants: standard and premium. The Xiaomi Mi 5X is indeed the alleged Mi X1. The battery capacity of the Mi 5X is also now not yet known. Earlier rumours had also suggested that the Chinese manufacturer will launch a new phone under its new brand with the name, Xiaomi X1 or Lanmi X1. This way, Xiaomi wants to more effectively compete with other brands, such as Oppo and Vivo. At least, the placement of the dual camera setup and the antenna bands make us believe so. That aside, it is expected to come with a 16MP selfie shooter. This move, which is unexpected from a "online only" brand, hits at a possibility of a sub brand launch, which could enable to company to deploy more products at various price tiers.

Reports also suggest that the smartphone will release on July 26, which is a rumor, but not an official announcement from Xiaomi. As per the ad banner, Xiaomi will price it at 1999 Yuan (Rs 19,000/$295).
