Is this Kid Rock for Senate or Alexander Hamilton?

In what is fast becoming my favorite political story of the year, singer Kid Rock is once again tweeting about his Senate run in MI.

The rocker launched a site for his political campaign this week ("Kid Rock for Senate: Pimp of the Nation/Party to the People/In Rock We Trust") and unveiled two new music videos for "Po-Dunk" and "Greatest Show on Earth".

It's official: Kid Rock is running for the Senate.

Kid Rock took to Twitter last week to tease his senatorial bid, sharing the website kidrockforsenate.com and tweeting, "I will have a major announcement in the near future". It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101! The musician hasn't yet filed paperwork with the FEC to run, but says he will. Although it's been largely dismissed so far as a publicity stunt, Warren isn't taking any chances with the longshot Republican.

Kid Rock's stage name and his real name, Robert James Ritchie, also don't appear to be registered with the Federal Election Commission, leading many people to be rightfully suspicious. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT.

In an email to supporters, she wrote: "I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right?". Schumer added that in the Trump era, "We can't afford to take this tweet as a joke".

"Look, Trump won Debbie's state of Michigan, so we can't just laugh this off or make assumptions", reads the email, which raises money for both Hassan and Democratic Michigan Sen.

Rock campaigned with former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney during the 2012 GOP primary and his song "Born Free" was Romney's campaign theme.

Kid Rock's assumed campaign website is headlined by an image of the performer sitting in an Oval Office-type room, which is adorned with historical documents and a taxidermied elk. "I concede she is better at playing politics than I am, so I'll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax-paying hard-working Americans".
