It was a big night for the Bollywood superstars as the 18th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards were held in the handsome city of NY.

Actress Taapsee Pannu, who played a pivotal role in "Pink", was named the 'Woman Of The Year, ' while music maestro A.R. Rahman was given a Special Award in recognition of his contribution to film music since 25 years at the event, which was largely attended by the NRI community here. Shahid Kapoor, who has been nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in Udta Punjab, headed to the city with his wife Mira Rajput and daughter Misha on Monday night. IIFA will be exclusively aired live on Colors channel on July 16.

Neerja won the award for Best Film while AnirudhRoy Chaudhary won Best Director award for Pink.

Katrina Kaif caused a storm on stage with her pulsating performance and Salman Khan danced away to songs from Tubelight.

Other nominees in the field included Karan Johar for "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, ' Neeraj Pandey for 'M.S. Dhoni, ' Ram Madhvani for 'Neerja, ' Ali Abbas Zafar for 'Sultan" and Abhishek Chaubey for 'Udta Punjab'.
