BioWare And Anthem Lead Designer Corey Gaspur Has Passed Away

Corey Gaspur was in the process of working on Anthem, BioWare's upcoming action RPG.

The news comes via the BioWare blog and provides no details on Gaspur's death.

In ten years at BioWare he covered multiple roles, including Gameplay Designer, Level Designer and Lead Combat Designer starting on Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and continuing on Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, also including many of these titles' DLC packs.

Today, BioWare confirmed the passing of lead designer Corey Gaspur, who had worked for the company for a long period of time.

Previously a member of Turok developer Propaganda Games, Gaspur joined BioWare nine years ago.

Our thoughts are with Corey Gaspur's family, friends and colleagues. His experience with two of BioWare's most popular IPs recently achieved him a position as lead designer to head their latest project, Anthem. We offer our condolences to Corey's family and everyone that knew him. We will surely go to miss you, Corey Gaspur. Since 2010 he taught game design at NAIT and consulted on Dragon Age: Inquisition, Star Wars Battlefront, Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Mass Effect Andromeda.
