Russian President Vladimir Putin has been taking a three-day fishing and hunting summer holiday Siberian wilderness, where he opted to be shirtless and fearless the cold waters of a mountain lake.

In what has become something of an annual tradition, Russian President Vladimir Putin posed for shirtless action pictures while on his summer vacation.

A fishing pole was an essential part of the luggage he took to a lake in the Tyva Republic in southern Siberia, where he stayed from Tuesday to Thursday.

During the short stop in the taiga, Putin went underwater hunting. "It's very sly and cautious", the president said of his prey after getting out.
