While it may have taken years to get to this point, Spotify is finally catering to both audiences - a decision that might've been made possible by the addition of the background music feature Microsoft added in August of last year.

You can control the app on your console, but it's much easier to pair your Xbox with your smart device app or Spotify Connect on your PC. Late to the game after the version of the Spotify player for Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, its arrival is nonetheless a welcome one for gamers looking to escape the normal soundtrack for their favorite titles.

After days of rumors and sightings, Spotify is officially hitting the Xbox One and it's bringing the ability to listen to music and game at the same time.

The app will be available to users as early as today, Spotify is launching its app on the Xbox One across 34 markets around the world.

To download the app just head to the Xbox Store and search for Spotify.
