Arsene Wenger has stood by his stance that Sanchez will not be sold and reports suggest the player himself has now accepted that he will be at Arsenal for the 2017-18 campaign.

While Ozil appears close to securing a new deal, the 28-year-old looks unlikely to feature in the club's Premier League opener against Leicester on Friday as the manager has confirmed on their official website that he suffered a knock to his ankle leaving him out of training earlier in the week.

However, the Frenchman insists Sanchez remains "focused" on playing for the Gunners this season amid continued speculation about his future.

Moves to Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain have been mooted as Sanchez seemingly isn't happy at the Emirates.

Manchester City are set to sign defender Nicolas Freire from Argentinos Juniors in a £500,000 deal and loan him out to Dutch club PEC Zwolle.

It's unknown whether the £300,000-per-week offer will match Sanchez's expectations, but Mokbel noted that was the figure at which he expected to begin negotiations, meaning Arsenal should now be on the same wavelength.

Father of young Manchester United fan delighted with Mourinho's Super Cup medal
But even Mourinho knew deep down that his first season at the Manchester club was far from what he would have wanted. Some of these are tricky fixtures, but it's against teams like these that United struggled last season.

'If he goes to PSG he's out of sight, out of mind.

"However, it's the Man City situation that's the concern and we've seen it all before with Robin van Persie's move to Manchester United". They are not anxious about the money because they aren't the ones getting it, ' the former Arsenal and England forward said.

'The problem if he does stay is that he's only staying for six months really.

In fact, the 2016/17 season turned out to be the best one of his senior career so far as Sanchez recorded 30 goals and 19 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal.

Some sections of the Arsenal support may feel more signings are needed entering the final phases of this summer's transfer window, but Mahrez seemingly won't be one of those arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
