Nissan debuts in connected auto technology

The NissanConnect has been developed specifically for the Indian market by Renault Nissan Technology Business Centre India (RNTBCI).

"Nissan Intelligent Mobility encompasses three core areas of innovation - intelligent drive, intelligent power and intelligent integration", Mr. Malhotra said. This new application is an integrated information and communications platform that connects the customer to the vehicle. The integrated information and communication platform features over 50 connected features with three years of free subscription and one year of additional Nissan Warranty programme. Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. said, "NissanConnect embodies the best of Nissan's innovative spirit and is created to enhance the overall driving experience for everyone".

As said by Arun Malhotra, managing director of Nissan Motor India, NissanConnect is created to provide better control, convenience, comfort, and safety to the users through advanced vehicle technologies that bring individuals closer to each other.

According to Malhotra, NissanConnect is a 360 degree connected auto software application connecting the vehicle with the customer's family, Nissan network and NissanConnect community through the customer's smartphone. This connected vehicle technology will come factory fitted from Nissan with embedded Telematics Control Unit paired with an inbuilt SIM for every auto and a dedicated server. The platform will be made available for range of cars - Micra, Sunny, and Terrano. The features are accessible via a smartphone application which is available on Android, iOS and Windows platforms for Nissan customers. Customers can also locate nearby fuel stations, Nissan dealerships, service stations and book auto services in advance. Customers have to contact the dealership to activate the NissanConnect on the purchase of their cars.
