PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One owners will still get their copy on-time, four days from now on August 15. That list is missing one platform though: PC. It's now releasing on August 29, two weeks after the other versions of the game. A few months ago, it was announced that Sonic Mania would include a brand new animated opening sequence directed by Tyson Hesse, who previously worked with SEGA to produce the Sonic Mega Drive comic saga. The game was originally meant to be released next week, on August 15th.

Luckily, those who preordered the game won't be totally disappointed by this delay.

Sonic Mania isn't supposed to be released until next Tuesday, but people that ordered the super expensive (and super cool) Collector's Edition have already received download codes that works. Sega has confirmed that all PC preorder customers for Sonic Mania are getting given the original Sonic the Hedgehog for free.

Sonic Mania will be comprised of mostly returning classic stages with a twist, but also will have its own new zones including Studiopolis Zone which had new footage of its first act shown briefly at the end of the live stream.
