Actor Oviya, who became the darling of the masses after her stint on popular television show Bigg Boss Tamil, has been summoned by Nazarathpet police for allegedly attempting to commit suicide on the show.

Petitioner Saravanan who filed the complaint said that the show's participants had to stay cooped inside a closed compound for 100 days and had to take the permission of the producers to leave the compound. According to the complainant, the motive of Bigg Boss is to gain TRP ratings and hence, shown Oviya's suicide attempt in the show. He urged the police to probe into her alleged suicide bid.

In response, the Nazarathpet police Inspector Jaichandran said the complaint has been recorded in the Community Social Register (CSR).
