The Bills announced two moves Friday, acquiring the services of Jordan Matthews and E.J. Gaines via trade.

Sammy was talking about "building a legacy" with Tyrod Taylor just 14 hours ago. The team's decision to trade its top wide receiver and top cornerback continues an off-season overhaul under General Manager Brandon Beane and the team's new coach, Sean McDermott.

After Friday's trades the Bills now hold two first-round selections, two second-round picks, and two third-round selections in the 2018 NFL Draft.

"We want to thank E.J. for all he has contributed to our organization since we drafted him in 2014", added Snead.

Buffalo surrendered Ronald Darby to the Eagles and Sammy Watkins and a sixth round selection to the Rams. But when he's healthy, Watkins is one of the most dynamic receivers in the game.

Gaines was a valuable defensive back in the Rams' rotation.

The former Clemson standout has 153 catches for 2,459 yards and 17 touchdowns in three National Football League seasons despite undergoing multiple foot surgeries. Expect someone like Kayvon Webster or Troy Hill to fill the void to start the season. Last night, Watkins caught the first three passes thrown his way in what we now know was his last game as a Bill. In three seasons with the Eagles Matthews compiled 225 catches for 2,673 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Watkins and Matthews will both become unrestricted free agents in March. Gaines has had injury troubles and is a question mark as he played 11 games last season. They have Kansas City's first-round pick next spring in addition to their own. A former No. 4 overall pick, Watkins has been bothered by multiple foot injuries during his career, though he has been productive when healthy.
