President Donald Trump said on Friday that the USA military is "locked and loaded" should North Korea decide to "act unwisely" as the nuclear crisis between the two nations continues to escalate.

They have become wearily accustomed to living under the shadow of nuclear war, but Trump's hawkish outbursts and the contradictory messages of his administration's North Korea policy have added an extra fear factor that has put many South Korean citizens on edge.

"You have this guy making bellicose threats against somebody else who has very little to lose over there", he said, referring to Trump.

The United States must take into account the tragic failure of appeasement and Kim Jong Un's ultimate aim of reunifying the Korean peninsula in its response to the communist regime's threats of nuclear attack, contends talk-radio host and author Michael Savage.

As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, McCaskill said she was confident in USA missile defense systems protecting Guam and America's west coast, though she remained anxious about Trump's capabilities in global negotiations.

He went on to urge the crowd that if they "don't want to get caught, deer-in-the-headlights", when missiles start flying that they should "call in North Korea immediately".

"Is President Trump driving this or is North Korea?"

"It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse", Ellison said.

"That was one of those I wish I'd not said", he regretted. I mean, his rhetoric might make Kim Jong Un think that he needs to strike first. And so, what we need to do is try to tamper down this crisis. Democrats appear to be playing a unsafe game of using the threat of nuclear war as a way to tear down Trump.

Ahrens was not alone in his criticism, as many reactions on Twitter agreed.
