The Grammy-winning singer made the announcement at a show last night.

Mars also issued a statement thanking the MI fans for supporting the cause.

Bruno and his tour promoter Live Nation, redirected funds from his show to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint - an organization whose main focus is helping those affected by the water crisis.

Experts also linked 12 deaths from a Legionnaires' disease outbreak to the improperly treated water. Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it is important that we do not forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster.

Hopefully, this will prove to be a reminder that the crisis in Flint is still ongoing and that many are still lacking safe, drinkable water.

Mars is now on a sold out world tour in support of his latest album, 24K Magic.

Bruno Mars' "24K Magic World Tour" kicked off its North American leg in Las Vegas following a three-month European excursion. Due to insufficient water treatment, it was later found to contain risky levels of lead.

It'll help residents caught up in the lead-contaminated drinking water scandal, which led to a state of emergency being declared in 2014. Replacement of lead pipes is not expected to be completed until 2020. Flint has switched back to Detroit for its water supply, and several state officials have resigned or are under indictment for negligence.

Mars joins a list of entertainers who have made sizable donations to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint in the past few years.
