Chelsea boss Antonio Conte admits his players lost their cool as they were reduced to nine men in a shock 3-2 Premier League defeat to Burnley.

Conte has struggled to hide his frustrations over Chelsea's failure to strengthen their squad, with Morata, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and back-up goalkeeper Willy Caballero their only new signings.

Sam Vokes scored twice as Burnley torpedoed defending champions Chelsea 3-2 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in one of the most sensational opening-weekend results in English top-flight history.

Assisted by a woeful home defence, the underdogs were out of sight by half-time and although Chelsea dominated the second-half with £58million striker Alvaro Morata on target, they had left themselves too much ground to claw back.

Nevertheless, Burnley managed to see out the closing stages to claim a famous victory at Stamford Bridge.

Robbie Brady's free kick hit the post on 89 minutes that would have sealed the three points for Burnley, but the visiting side weathered a late storm from Chelsea in stoppage time to earn a win against the reigning league champions.

Chelsea fought back through Alvaro Morata and David Luiz, but Cesc Fabregas' dismissal for two bookable offences disrupted their momentum in a second-half they dominated.

He brushed aside questions about reported tension with Chelsea's board over signing new players and said he was not anxious because three key players - Eden Hazard, Pedro and Victor Moses - could return from injury and suspension for Chelsea's next game against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

"I am not anxious", Conte said.

"This result kills off the away win story for this season but we're not getting carried away", said Dyche. They're heavily tipped to end the season rock bottom, but the Terriers could give the first indication today that they're prepared to spring a surprise.

"After that we lost our composure and conceded three goals", Conte said.

"I was very happy with the new players. I wanted to win here, not to send a message". "Big congratulations to all the people in Manchester City - we are a strong club".
