Local science organizations offer help to prepare for the solar eclipse

As the moon passes by the sun, the moon completely blocks the sunlight in an area of total eclipse and blocks a portion of the sun's light in areas of partial eclipse.

NASA is set to study the Earth's ionosphere during the upcoming total solar eclipse in the US،to better understand the Sun's relationship to the region of the atmosphere where satellites orbit and radio signals are reflected towards our planet، according to the Indian Express. In order to properly observe such an event without suffering permanent eye damage, special #eclipse viewing glasses are required.

In addition to its preparation event, the Fort Wayne Astronomical Society also will help people experience the solar eclipse by having members out from noon to 3 p.m. August 21 in the plaza outside the main library, a group news release said.

The only safe way to look directly at the sun, whether during an eclipse or not, is through special-purpose solar filters.
