The Milwaukee Brewers have filled one of the holes on their roster by acquiring Neil Walker from the New York Mets. Facing that reality, the Brewers have acquired Neil Walker from the New York Mets, with New York paying a portion of his remaining $5 Million in salary. The Brewers are in third place in the N.L. Central, sitting three games behind the Chicago Cubs. By trading reliever Addison Reed, outfielder Jay Bruce, first baseman Lucas Duda and now Walker, the Mets have received four bullpen prospects and financial relief - and cleared up playing time for their younger players.

Walker arrived in NY in a December 2015 trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Jon Niese.

The Mets acquired Walker from the Pittsburgh for pitcher Jon Niese on December 9, 2015, after allowing Daniel Murphy to become a free agent.

Alderson praised Walker's performance in NY.
