National Football League could still investigate Ezekiel Elliott bar incident

If the NFL determines that there is enough evidence that Elliott was responsible for the punch, there is a chance the Cowboys running back could face further league discipline.

The decision came despite Cowboys owner Jerry Jones saying he hadn't seen anything to indicate Elliott was guilty of domestic violence and that he didn't think his star back would be suspended.

- Mike Leslie (@MikeLeslieWFAA) August 11, 2017Elliott & reps statement: "In the coming weeks. a slew of additional credible and controverting evidence will come to light". "I admit that I am far from ideal, but plan to continue to work very hard, on and off the field, to mature and earn the great opportunity that I have been given".

According to Brandon George of SportsDay, the league could still investigate a July 16 incident at a Dallas bar that allegedly involved Elliott, as well as a man having his nose broken by a punch. If the suspension holds up, Elliott wouldn't be eligible to play in the regular season until October 29 when the Cowboys play the Washington Redskins. The NFL Players Association said it was reviewing the decision and had been in touch with Elliott's representatives to consider his options. "The NFL's findings are replete with factual inaccuracies and erroneous conclusions and it "cherry picks" so-called evidence to support its conclusion while ignoring other critical evidence".

Nine-man Chelsea shocked by Sam Vokes double for Burnley
David Luiz's smooth finish set up a tense finale but Chelsea could not find the final goal to salvage a draw and fell to defeat. Robbie Brady then hit the post at the opposite end from a free-kick as Burnley pushed for a fourth.

Mourinho: Man Utd having conversations over Ibrahimovic return
We got a central midfielder, a striker, obviously the 25 per cent would be for a player from the sides, but we have players. A good season for me? "At Porto that meant winning the Champions League, likewise at Inter".

Tesla Model 3 gets choice of 50kWh or 75kWh battery
There are plans for an electric semi-trailer truck to be revealed later this year and an electric pickup truck by 2019. Musk told analysts in May that the Model 3 will require just 5,000 feet of wiring.

Elliott, who turned 22 last month, has three days to appeal the ruling.

His suspension is expected to begin on September 2 and he will be eligible to return to the Cowboys on October 23 after the team's week seven-game against San Francisco.

That would constitute a major on-field setback for Dallas, which relied heavily on the rookie running back last season and was rewarded with a 13-3 record and an NFC East title.

Before the Dallas Cowboys preseason game in Los Angeles could kick-off, Dallas Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones was the first executive member of the organization to comment on the suspension. The proceedings over the league's punishment could then "drag out a long time", Robinson noted.
