On Friday, President Donald Trump urged North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un not to take any action against the United States, its territories including Guam or its allies, warning he would regret such a move - and "regret it fast".

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged Donald Trump to tone down his aggressive language to North Korea, after tensions escalated rapidly this week.

Rest assured, the country's defense systems are "locked and loaded" should the budding nuclear power "act unwisely", according to our Commander-in-Chief.

Instead he promised to respond to the next provocation from North Korea with what many assumed to mean nuclear force.

Pyongyang has accused Mr Trump of "driving" the Korean peninsula to the "brink of a nuclear war". President Donald Trump is doubling down on his threats to wage "fire and fury" on North Korea after receiving criticism that his aggressive rhetoric might fuel tensions.

Now, the president says America is prepared for the war.

Trump's tweet and statements to reporters came from Bedminster, New Jersey, where he is on what the White House called a working vacation at his private golf club.

North Korea has threatened the USA with a nuclear attack on Guam, a US territory south of Japan, after President Donald Trump said additional threats against the country or its allies would be met with "fire and fury".

Trump has repeatedly called on China - the North's biggest ally and trading partner - to help reign in its neighbour, to little avail.

"We'll always consider negotiations, but they've been negotiating now for 25 years", Trump said, adding that efforts by former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama failed to end North Korea's nuclear threat.

"At the same time, if the United States strikes first and starts war on the Korean Peninsula, China and other countries, including Russia, Japan and South Korea, will be against it".

On Thursday North Korea threatened to use its young people to "blow the USA from this planet".

The DPRK military said in a statement Thursday that its plan to strike Guam with intermediate missiles will be ready by mid-August and its implementation will depend on a decision by DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un.

"Let's see what he does with Guam".
