Yuvraj dropped; Ashwin, Jadeja rested for Sri Lanka ODIs

Following a string of low scores, Yuvraj Singh was on Sunday dropped from the India squad for the upcoming five-match one-day global series and one-off T20I against Sri Lanka, starting August 20.

India, who have already pocketed the Test series 2-1 and are dominating the final Test, hold an impressive record against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Four senior bowlers, including pace duo of Mahammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, have been rested along with leading spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

India are set to play five One Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International, starting August 20, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. Rohit had been rested from the tour of Windies after the Champions Trophy, the last limited-overs series India played. Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey and Mumbai's Shardul Thakur were included in the 15-man squad announced after a two-hour long selection meeting.
