Immigrants People Found Inside Tractor Trailer in Edinburg, Texas

According to NBC affiliate KPRC in Houston, the Edinburg Police Department confirmed Sunday that 17 immigrants were locked inside the back of a trailer. In the wake of accepting a call from a relative of a person inside the trailer, Edinburg police said they landed on the scene and started thumping on tractor-trailers. Edinburg is in southern Texas, along the US-Mexico border.

Two people, a man and a woman in charge of the tractor trailer have been detained.

The caller said the relative was accompanied by other immigrants and that it was getting too hot inside the trailer, said White. They were all alive, said White.

This news comes less than a month after more than 30 people were found inside a trailer in San Antonio. Ten people died of heat exhaustion in a failed human trafficking attempt.The driver of the truck, James Bradley, was charged in relation to the botched people-smuggling attempt.
