North Korea war not 'imminent,' Trump aides say

But Mr Pompeo denied that a threat of a nuclear conflict was imminent, saying: "I've heard folks talking about being on the cusp of a nuclear war".

This AP file photo shows CIA Director Mike Pompeo. There is "no intelligence that would indicate that we're in that place today", he added.

As before, Mr. Trump's statement did not make clear what would constitute an action that would require an American military operation - would the United States take action only in retaliation for an actual attack by North Korea, or would it strike to stop further development of nuclear weapons?

North Korea will suffer "a heavy blow" once the new sanctions are thoroughly implemented because they block exports of coal and other mineral resources, a major source of foreign currency revenue, said Ri Jong Ho, 59, who formerly managed funds for the country's leadership as a senior member of the secretive "Office 39".

North Korea said on Thursday that plans would be completed by mid-August to fire four intermediate-range missiles to land near the U.S. Pacific island of Guam, 3,500 km (2,175 miles) away.

Trump warned last week that North Korea would be met with "fire and fury" if it continued to threaten his country. "We've engaged the world to support that policy", Pompeo told host Chris Wallace.

Trump's "Fire and Fury" Wouldn't Be the First for North Korea
A recent CBS poll found 61 percent of respondents were "uneasy" with Trump's ability to handle the North Korean nuclear situation. Beijing is North Korea's biggest economic partner and source of aid. "It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse", he added.

You will also need to use solar filter on cameras, binoculars and telescopes and don't use eclipse glasses to look through them. The optical device concentrates the sun's light, which can damage the solar viewer and then your eyes.

United Fans Will Love Conte's Comments On Matic
All of a sudden United are in the driving seat ahead of Chelsea to win the Premier League. However, Neville does not seem convinced by the 22 year-old Frenchman.

"Every time they test a missile, or if they are a test nuclear missile, they are gaining in expertise, and we can say that they progress at an alarming rate", said Mr. Pompeo on Fox News, when asked about the possibility of a missile north Korean nuclear strike on american soil.

But the intelligence chief also said he saw no imminent threat of North Korea attacking the US with such a nuclear weapon, although he expected the rogue nation's missile program would continue despite global sanctions.

In a separate interview on ABC News, Trump's national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, struck a similar tone.

Meanwhile, North Korea said on Saturday that almost 3.5 million workers, party members and soldiers volunteered to join or rejoin its army to resist new U.N. sanctions and to fight against the United States in the current geopolitical tension between Pyongyang and Washington.

Pompeo also said that the problem has been ongoing through previous US administrations, but he argued President Donald Trump was making strides to effect change.

China has repeatedly called for dialogue to peacefully resolve the mounting tensions, but its proposal for North Korea to suspend its weapons programs in exchange for the United States and South Korea halting joint military drills has been ignored. "George Washington said it: The most effective way of preserving peace is to be prepared for war".
