'When I joined Man United past year, I thought immediately that we needed a kind of Matic.

If Mourinho is feeling the pressure of maintaining his record of winning league titles within two years at Porto, Chelsea (twice), Inter Milan and Real Madrid, he's not showing it.

"He's a player of, I think, now 29 last week - 29 years old, with five years or so in the Premier League, lots of experience". I am very happy everyone gave their best against a good team. That is normal, but that is not enough. In terms of the squad, this is my second transfer window. He is a fantastic signing for us because I can trust him to perform at a high level.

The Blues were claimed to have sold Matic due to having bought Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, but Bakayoko is now sidelined through injury and played no part against the Clarets.

The former Red Devils midfielder told Paddy Power: "Some people have said that they can't believe Chelsea let Matic go to United, and that they've handed them the title, but I don't see that".

Romelu is aggressive so they improve our team and the way we work.

'I was not sitting around having tea, ' he says.

"Nemanja is top player with a top stability and we need that".

On our first video show of the season, Nipun made an excellent point; Matic does nearly everything, almost as well as all of our other midfielders, but perhaps one point remained which is crucial - he is an upgrade on Michael Carrick now, without question, and on his league debut he looked like Carrick at his best. 'My dedication to my job is always the maximum, even more than when I started. I want the Champions League to start.
