Sharad Yadav shared stage today with Lalu Yadav, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

Last week, Rahul Gandhi left for the Norwegian capital Oslo on a trip to meet political and business leaders.

Lalu Prasad's younger son and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, his wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and their daughter Misa Bharti were also present at the rally attended by thousands of people despite floods affecting major parts of Seemanchal, Koshi and Mithilanchal regions of north Bihar.

Early speakers including Raghubansh Prasad Singh, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shivanand Tiwari and others criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for breaking the "Mahagathbandhan" the grand alliance and joining hands with the BJP to form a new government in the state.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday tried to display opposition unity against the BJP. "It is simple - the BJP and Modi have been using these agencies against opposition parties to any one who raise voices against them".

Before the rally, Sharad Yadav told the media that he was with the Grand Alliance and his JD (U) was real JD (U). "I will prove this".

Officials in the South said the missiles flew for about 250 kilometres, before dropping into the sea off its east coast. The "Ulchi Freedom Guardian" war games are a largely computer-simulated exercise that runs for two weeks in the South.

Apart from targeting the BJP, the rally is also being seen as an opportunity to project Tejashwi as a "leader of anti-BJP forces" in Bihar, and posters depicting Tejashwi as "Baahubali" were also visible at hoardings in various locations of Patna.

"I am sure and certain (of a massive gathering)".

Addressing his supporters, Lalu Prasad took a dig at the central leadership of the NDA and said that the country is going through a very unsafe phase where instead of following the constitution, wishes of two people are being followed who want to completely obliterate the opposition from the country by issuing continuous threats. ANI wrote, "RJD's Patna rally: Picture taken from same point where Lalu Prasad Yadav's purported picture was taken; crowd sizes are different". Full Patna party is full of green banners and posters on the rally.

But expectedly, Scindia played down reports of discontent within the party and claimed that all are united against Bihar chief minister and JD (U) chief Nitish Kumar's decision to break the grand alliance.

Earlier, the RJD chief said that the rally would be an important event ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls in which a united opposition would throw the BJP out of power.
