"I've been here nearly a month fighting for my daughter".

LaFontaine-Greywind, 22, disappeared on Saturday, Aug. 19, while eight months pregnant.

Crews told police that LaFontaine-Greywind gave up her baby before admitting to taking advantage of the woman in an attempt to get her baby.

She had gone upstairs in her north Fargo apartment building to help a neighbor who asked her to model a dress that the neighbor was sewing.

Matheny had been living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, working construction, when Lafontaine-Greywind became pregnant, but quit his job and moved back to North Dakota as the baby's due date approached, reported the Grand Forks Herald.

Her boyfriend of seven years, Ashton Metheny, and her parents called the police after she failed to return home following a visit to her neighbours' house.

Matt Damon Chooses Pocket-Sized Paradise in the Trailer for Alexander Payne's Downsizing
Thanks to overpopulation resources are dwindling, so some people are shrinking themselves down in order to conserve them. The idea is to live more sustainably on the planet, but it also turns out that everything is cheaper when you shrink.

Police searched the apartment and then arrested Crews and Hoehn when they found the couple with a newborn baby, who they believed to be the child of missing Savanna.

Three days after police found the newborn, kayakers discovered LaFontaine-Greywind's body in the nearby Red River, wrapped in plastic and duct tape, police said. A medical examiner found that she had died as a result of "homicidal violence", though no other details about the autopsy have been released. Matheny, along with LaFontaine-Greywind's parents, Norberta and Joe Greywind, saw the baby girl for the first time on August 30.

Brooke Crews and her boyfriend, William Hoehn, are charged with conspiracy to commit murder and kidnapping in Greywind's death. The maximum penalty in the murder charge is life in prison without parole.

Crews and Hoehn are being held at the Cass County Jail in North Dakota in lieu of $2 million bail. The infant is in state custody and healthy.

A friend of Savanna Greywind's family tells Valley News Live there is no animosity between them and Matheny. The baby had been due September 20.
