Gauri Lankesh, Kalburgi killed with same gun? Probe suggests so

Lankesh was murdered on the night of September 5 by three unidentified bike-borne assailants in Bengaluru. The state government has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case.

Other people present at the protest included journalist P Sainath, politician Rajeev Gowda, social activist Medha Patkar and women s rights campaigner Kavita Krishnan.

"National leaders of the BJP should stop giving statements such as how the Congress government did not provide security to Gauri Lankesh in spite of she asking for it. Gauri never asked for police security and that is why we had not provided it".

Thousands of people are expected to join the protests that will begin in a rally from Bengaluru City Railway station to Central college grounds in the city.

The legal notice, sent by the state Secretary of Karnataka BJP's Yuva Morcha, said that Guha, in an interview to a news portal on September 6, mentioned Sangh Parivar in connection with Lankesh's murder.

The progressive forum "Gauri Lankesh Hatya Virodhi Vedike" made a decision to hold the national-level resistance convention.

"The forum of progressive thinkers, writers, social activists, artistes and intellectuals was formed last Friday to fight against Lankesh killing and chose to hold the national-level "resistance convention" here", the forum convenor K. Leela had told reporters on Monday.
