ESPN's Nick DePaula reports that Westbrook signed a ten-year contract extension with Nike's Jordan Brand, and that the deal will make him the highest-paid endorser in the brand's history. The deal also includes a rare "ambassador clause", providing Westbrook with appearance opportunities and additional Jordan Brand legacy potential even after he retires from the National Basketball Association.

He's also eligible for a five-year contract extension this offseason that could pay him more than $235 million over six seasons.

The new shoe deal extension, negotiated by the Wasserman agency and Westbrook's longtime agent, Thad Foucher, is in advance of the initial deal's expiration next fall.

Westbrook's coming off an historic season in which he averaged 31.6 points, 10.4 assists and 10.7 rebounds to lead OKC to the postseason. His on-court signature sneaker is being billed as "unlike anything that Jordan Brand has done before, " which is absolutely fitting given what the world has come to expect from his fashion sense.

Hackers tied to North Korea are also suspected of carrying out a series of attacks on global banks that came to light a year ago . China's United Nations ambassador, Liu Jieyi, called for a resumption of negotiations "sooner rather than later".

Perhaps the most intriguing development is that Russell Westbrook will finally receive his own on-court performance signature shoe. DePaula adds this re-up represents the most lucrative total endorsement deal for any Jordan-affiliated athlete thus far.

In addition to the money & upcoming shoes, the new deal also includes an annual donation by Team Jordan to Westbrook's "Why Not?"

It's unclear whether the Jordan Brand contract might impact Westbrook's contract decision with Oklahoma City. Additionally, this new deal includes an "ambassador clause", which stretches Westbrook and Jordan Brand's partnership after retirement.
