What You Need to Know About iPhone X

There's nothing wrong with Face ID.

While the delay of the iPhone X could hurt near-term sales, analysts still think Apple's loyal and hungry fans would lap up the new phone, boosting sales for fiscal 2018. The phone will start at US$999 for the 64 GB version.

With the ousting of the home button the face of the phone is now all screen.

If all this sounds appealing, then you probably want to know when you can get your hands on one. While the device sports a number of noteworthy features, the one that has captured perhaps the most attention is Face ID, the facial recognition system that replaces Touch ID on the iPhone X. It sounds straightforward enough: The system can recognize a user's face for device unlocking and other features. It quickly scans your face and allows you into your device. The phone scans your face and uses it as a password, relying on 30,000 unique dots it recognizes.

Seemingly it works as quick as your fingerprint so you won't be waiting around.

While you might think that Face ID could be tricked by a photo, Schiller reassured that this wasn't the case. I mean that'd be ridiculous if someone need only hold up my Facebook profile pic to gain access to my phone.

Once more, the carrier is trying to make sure you're on the hook for 24 months here. Typically, they'll sell them to you at the same base price as Apple does, but throw in a $100 or $150 gift card with your purchase.

The iPhone X also has a totally revamped design with an OLED screen that covers the entire front of the phone. For example if you furrow your brow and grit your teeth the Animoji will mirror that expression. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will also be pretty popular too, as they both benefit from sizeable performance updates, though the Plus is definitely the one you want to go for if you're going the non-iPhone X route.

Of course the processor is more powerful, the RAM has been increased and everything else has been improved as you'd expect. That's where there's a change between the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus - the latter has a dual camera setup, pairing a f/1.8 lens with a f/2.8 telephoto lens.

If all of this is a little overwhelming and you're not ready for a completely different iPhone than you'll still have the option to upgrade to the 8 or 8 Plus.

"After failing a number of times, because they weren't Craig, the iPhone did what it was created to do, which was to require his passcode", the source said.

The iPhone 8 will be available for preorder at 12:01 a.m.

While pre-orders start tomorrow (Friday, September 15), the devices will be available beginning Saturday, September 23, in the UAE and several other countries, including the US. The iPhone 8, which offers a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, will be priced starting at $699, while the iPhone 8 Plus with a 5.5-inch display will be $799 and up.
