Jose Mourinho offers injury updates on Man United's key players

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is repoetedly furious at Paul Pogba's latest injury setback and blames the midfielder for ignoring medical advice over his long-standing hamstring issues.

A more definitive timeline of Pogba's expected return will likely be delivered to the media during Mourinho's pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon but all signs indicate that it will be a period of 4-6 weeks without United's record signing.

Jose Mourinho handed the France global the captain's armband for their Champions League opener against Swiss side Basel on Tuesday night.

Mourinho's side host Everton on Sunday, with former captain Wayne Rooney set to face United for the first time since he left Old Trafford in the summer.

Apparently though the France midfielder instead opted to seek treatment from an external personal trainer and Mourinho and the United medics feel that has "made the midfielder far more vulnerable to injury".

The Spanish star was one of the Special One's most important players previous year as they won two trophies, earning the praise of his manager and teammates alike and even muted as a potential successor to Wayne Rooney as club captain. "The stadium will show him the respect he deserves before and after the match, not during the match".

Mourinho said: "Luke Shaw is not injured anymore so is a question of form, is a question of options but he is not injured, he's recovered".
