Detroit Lions' Jamal Agnew's punt return touchdown

Even Tom Brady is going to find that out.

Most of the Detroit Lions brushed off Monday night's 24-10 win over the New York Giants as just another football game. Certainly not GM Jerry Reese, who chose to stand pat this offseason with the same offensive line that was a weakness previous year.

Nope, they were interested in precisely none of that. This year Austin's defense is two-for-two in holding teams to 20 or less.

While Beckham is slated to be back, we still do not think it is enough to power the Giants to victory.

For years the Detroit Lions have been fighting to join the ranks of the respected in the NFL. But this, for some reason, felt unique.

Leading into this season, the Lions' defense was suspect. The NFL awarded Detroit a number of nationally televised games this year and Stafford and Co. did not disappoint. He was traded to the Lions in June for a sixth-round draft pick, but a change of scenery has not done much to improve Robinson's play.

It sounds like Giants coach Ben McAdoo is growing exhausted of Eli Manning doing Eli Manning things.

On a night when the New York Giants honored their 2007 Super Bowl championship team at halftime, the current Giants once again looked like chumps.

Abdullah did not fear a great run stuffing defense as he silenced a lot of doubters on the big stage. They rarely gave up big gains at all. We've seen it happen with Matt Ryan and Stafford seems to be taking similar steps.

"We did the advance of most of the film already", Quinn said. Watch a replay of the Week 2 episode in the player below, and check out the live show right here on Sunday morning. Somehow, Manning didn't get the snap off in time, NY was penalized five yards, and the team wound up settling for the field goal anyway. They didn't need a last-minute comeback to win.

The Lions scored their first touchdown - a 27-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Jones Jr., caught over Eli Apple - late in the first quarter after needing to drive just 54 yards, following a 37-yard Brad Wing punt. "Smart play overall by Jim Bob Cooter".

This is an offense that has been average statistically but efficient with a star quarterback making good decisions.

He became the first Lions rookie to score on a punt return since Eddie Drummond in 2002, and his highlight-reel return was the fifth longest in franchise history.

The Giants' superstar wide receiver was declared active for Monday night's home opener against the Lions about 90 minutes before kickoff, exactly four weeks after suffering a high-ankle sprain in a preseason game at the Browns. And through two games, they stink period. Stafford tossed three downfield bombs to the rookie wideout, but none were completed. They have no ground attack to speak of whatsoever.

Detroit will get a real idea of this in less than a week, having to face the Falcons on short rest.

Manning's season is off to a horrendous start, and by extension, the Giants are, too.

One by one they were introduced. "I expect us to get the ball snapped", he said. "And I'll be watching Atlanta as fast as I can".
