Magnitude-3.6 Earthquake Shakes Parts of Los Angeles

While the quake wasn't big enough to cause much damage, the USGS says dozens of people reported feeling the tremor.

The U.S. Geographical Survey is reporting that a magnitude 3.8 natural disaster hit near Albion, Illinois near the IN border.

Four more people were killed by the powerful natural disaster that hit Mexico, local officials said.

The epicenter of Tuesday's temblor was in Puebla, outside the capital, according to European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

AFP journalists captured images of collapsed buildings, a vehicle crushed by rubble, and debris-strewn streets. According to the Richter Scale which measures natural disaster intensity, a 3.8 quake is comparable to the vibration of a passing truck.

Alfredo Aguilar, a 43-year-old resident, said the quake was "really strong - buildings started to move". The 8.1 shake killed thousands and destroyed large parts of Mexico City, Reuters noted. She said she saw glass bursting out of the windows of some buildings. Mexico City's worldwide airport has suspended activity while the airport personnel ensure that no damage was done. She said she was anxiously trying to reach her children, who she had left in the care of her disabled mother. "We're going to go to a building that fell to see if we can help". Some people dove for cover under desks.

Local television broadcast images of collapsed buildings and rubble-filled streets, according to The Associated Press.

It's the second major quake the city has experienced this month, after a magnitude 8.1 natural disaster struck off the coast of Mexico on September 8.
