The Internet Thinks Laura Dern & Reese Witherspoon Are Feuding

Her performance landed her an Emmy award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, which she lost out to Laura Dern's incredible and terrifying portrayal of queen bee mom Renata in HBO's Big Little Lies.

"Damn it!" she appeared to scream, twice, after Dern's name was called as the victor.

Hoffman has had a varied and exciting career as a character actress, but had never been nominated for an Emmy before this year, which she kind of alluded to in yet another tweet during the ceremony.

Her Twitter tirade against Dern began shortly after, with the first tweet reading: "Laura Dern had famous parents". Hoffman's Twitter-game was at an all-time high on September 17 as she jokingly continued to troll.

Those of us who know Hoffman's wry sense of humor from her many memorable Broadway appearances were instantly aware that it was all in fun.

The series featuring nearly entirely female stars, with Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz starring alongside Reese and Nicole, won a whopping five awards during the evening, taking home the Emmys for Best Limited Series, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor.
