The Android 8.0 Oreo update is one that many Android users have been looking forward to, and is one of the main reasons of owning a Nexus or Pixel device in which users can ensure timely release of the updates for their phones.

The "Android One Moto X4", as Google is calling it, is different from the handset that Motorola will be selling only when it comes to software, as it's got Android One on board - this is the "purest form of Android", initially developed for lower-end handsets in emerging markets around the world. Interestingly, Google even mentions that the device will be among the first to be updated to Android P (of course, this will likely happen sometime in the second half of 2018). The device will be part of Project Fi program in the United States, a first non-Google smartphone to be part of Project Fi. Recently launched Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone missed this feature.

Lenovo has started sending out press invites for the Moto X4 India launch.

Apart from the stock Android, the Android One Moto X4 features exactly similar hardware as the standard Moto X4. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM.

Moto X is the dual rear camera smartphone that has been long rumored. Also, the Moto X4 seems to be a disappointment for some Motorola fans as the device won't pack Motorola's nifty additions such as Moto display, the One-handed navigation key, etc.

The Moto X4 comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display. A 12MP primary sensor and an 8MP wide-angle sensor are present at the back of the phone. The pair includes a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel primary camera of f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens of f/2.2 aperture, and 1.12um big pixels.

Moto X4 has an all-metal body, 1P68 water-and-dust resistant certification, and fingerprint sensor.
