The Hollywood Reporter announced the news early this morning after James Cameron himself revealed all at a private event celebrating the hit Terminator series last night. "We still fold time". She's not even the main star, yet Cameron still tries to justify this decision by explaining that "there will be mostly new characters, but we'll have Arnold and Linda's characters to anchor it". She made Sarah Connor iconic with her transformation from the timid passive victim of the first 1984 "Terminator" to the incredibly buff badass of 1991's "T2".

Plot details of the still unnamed "Terminator" reboot have yet to be released but Cameron said it would be a follow-up the storyline of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and feature new characters.

The new movie is being developed by James Cameron, who will be producing and has come up with the story.

Recently, Cameron praised Hamilton's performance as Sarah Connor in reference to the issues he had with Wonder Woman.

Cameron isn't the only one coming back.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the sixth installment of the Terminator franchise as we learn it. His involvement with the film was confirmed last month.

According to IMDb, Linda Hamilton's last two features were a sci-fi film by Diego Hallivus called Curvature, and an adventure comedy called Easy Does It by Will Addison, both of which are now in post-production.

Arnie is also attached to the new films, with Tim Miller (Deadpool), set to direct.

With the original Mother of the Future back on our screens, it seems like Terminator 6 could finally be the sequel that the first two deserve. The new Terminator movie will once again deal with themes of the potential evils of technology. Terminator 3 and Terminator: Salvation weren't exactly loved by fans, and the most recent example, 2015's Terminator: Genisys, was a flop that killed plans for a new trilogy. They've also brought in writers from Sarah Connor Chronicles and Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.
