The accessory company is aiming to make the virtual assistant toting smart speakers more portable with its Dox battery pack that Echo Dot that can keep the small speaker ticking along for 10 hours away from the mains, while the Loft battery base offers the same function for the Google Home but with only eight hours of electrical juice on offer.

LOFT is a portable battery base for the Google Home that let's you unplug and take Google anywhere you choose.

Google released its Google Home device in November.

Now, Ninety7 aims to bestow the same portable capabilities to the Google Home. Apple also has its own smart home speaker, the HomePod, which sells for $349 starting in December. It adds a battery to the speaker setup with 4 LEDs to display battery levels. There's also a new model for the Echo Dot (2nd generation), the Ninety7 DOX.

Large households typically require multiple Google Home units if their owners want to talk to the Assistant from every room in their home, but with LOFT owners won't have to spend more cash on multiple speakers. You can now roam around your house with Google Home or any other place with Wi-Fi in range.

Taylor Sopper for GeekWire: Amazon still has a tight grip on the US, home smart speaker market. The introductory price of the Ninenty7 LOFT is also lower at $39.95 from the $49.95 retail price. As with the VAUX, Amazon's smaller smart speaker drops into a nook on the top, with cables plugging in at the back. Ninety7 will start shipping the product this October.
