Dreamers get loud, disruptive at Nancy Pelosi event in San Francisco

North Carolina Republican Rep. Mark Meadows, who leads the House Freedom Caucus, said that "if we try to get the political rhetoric out of it and actually look for real solutions", a deal is "entirely possible". After all, they're the real party of walls and fences and have been since Bill Clinton militarized the U.S. -Mexico border in 1994 through Operation Gatekeeper. Their complaint was that Pelosi and her fellow Democrats have sold their families out in their negotiations with President Trump. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. They don't respect the borders of our country.

"Now is that a fair question?" she responded, before saying that she trusted Trump "is honest in understanding that the public supports, overwhelmingly supports, not sending these young people back".

But in her weekly press conference on Wednesday, Pelosi said that despite the constant coordination between the various caucuses on Capitol Hill with immigration advocacy groups, the path forward will be with the bipartisan legislation called the DREAM Act.

Pelosi says she understands their fear.

Pelosi attempted to interact with the protesters, who ignored her and chanted over her. "Just stop it! Just stop it now!" She then left the venue, followed by the other House representatives and activists who where scheduled to speak.

In the age of Trump, Pelosi knows that any hope of a deal depends on persuading the public that a handful of sympathetic young people are typical of the millions of illegal immigrants. We remember all too well, how for eight years the Democrats laid siege to our communities, raiding and deporting almost 3 million people, our family members and loved ones.

Some conservatives are warning that any deal involving DACA or reneging on the building the wall could cost Trump the support that got him elected.

Just hours after Sessions' announcement, however, the president, in a tweet, said he would "revisit" the decision if Congress fails to pass a legislative solution to help the program's beneficiaries, who now find themselves in an uncertain future.

When DACA was announced in 2010 by executive action, Barack Obama insisted that it was not amnesty but merely a two-year reprieve and work permit with no guarantee of renewal.

The lawsuit filed in federal court in San Francisco alleges the move violated the constitutional rights of immigrants who lack legal status and provided information about themselves to the US government so they could participate in the program.

There are four other lawsuits filed against Trump over DACA.

When the rubber hits the road on the president's policy priorities - chiefly tax reform - the Democrats who supported this deal won't touch Trump with a 10-foot poll.

That strategy generally ensures a ruling against President Trump at both the district and appellate court levels. Given their distance from the president, he usually succeeded in shouting them down or U.S. Secret Service escorted them from the room.

"Stop it!" she chided the illegal aliens. But by the end of the day, Trump was talking as if there was a preliminary deal. They must have missed who won the elections in November.
