Walmart May Deliver Groceries To Your Refrigerator

So the company announced Friday that it's partnering with smart-lock company August Home to test a program that will allow delivery people to enter your house with a one-time passcode and stick your groceries in the fridge - even while you're not home.

The retailer posted the video announcement on their Youtube account on September 21. When your order is ready, a driver from the same-day delivery service Deliv will bring the items to your home.

The retailer says it will soon start this test in the Silicon Valley area with select customers who have opted into to try the new service. Despite the fact that it would actually be Deliv employees entering customers' homes and depositing orders, shoppers will still associate the delivery service with Walmart. August home security cameras then allow them to watch the entire process from the app, if they so wish.

With each experiment, Walmart is refining its customer experience strategy while also cutting shipping costs, boosting efficiency, and improving delivery times as it competes with ecommerce giant Amazon.

"Imagine planning a last-minute get-together and having everything you need to entertain already waiting for you inside your fridge", said Walmart in a post.

CVS Limiting Opioid Prescriptions
Pharmacists will be required to inform patients about the risks of addiction , storage of medications and disposal. According to a release on the CVS Health website, opioid overdose deaths quadrupled from 1999 to 2015.

Now some harried consumers who are too busy (or lazy) to go to a store - let alone put the groceries away - might find this to be really cool and convenient. The door would lock behind the delivery person as they left the home.

If no one answers when they ring the bell though, things get interesting.

The service is only being tested in san francisco right now.

Walmart did not disclose a delivery charge for the service. You'll get a second notification on your phone when the delivery is completed and your door is locked. "The possibilities are endless, and we look forward to exploring how we can further serve our customers' needs", Eddleston said.
