Colts Take Their First Victory of the Season

NDIANAPOLIS, IN - SEPTEMBER 17: Jacoby Brissett #7 of the Indianapolis Colts looks to pass in the fourth quarter of a game against the Arizona Cardinals at Lucas Oil Stadium on September 17, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Obviously, 3-0 would be ideal, 2-1 would be acceptable, 1-2 drifts into eyebrow-arching territory and 0-3 becomes a Dawg Pound DEFCON 1. The last time the Browns were road favorites was on December 2, 2012, at Oakland where they were favored by 1 point. Donte Moncrief is the one to watch with this group, as he had just two catches in eight targets in last week's overtime loss.

Frank Gore's 4-yard scoring run made it 28-7. Jacoby Brissett started Week 2 and performed better, but that's not a high bar. Luck is still not ready to play, so Brissett will start because backup Scott Tolzien played so poorly against the Los Angeles Rams. Kizer will have a healthy Kenny Britt to overthrow as well as Rishard Higgins, who caught seven passes for 95 yards last week. The Browns and then Baltimore Colts met in the NFL Championship game twice with each team winning once. Through the team's first two games, Burgess has three tackles, a sack and one pass defensed. DeShone Kizer's second career start was a nightmare, as he threw three interceptions, lost a fumble, and missed portions of the game with a migraine headache.

The final third-down conversion came on the touchdown, when Brissett stepped his way out of a heavy rush from the Browns for the third consecutive play and scampered into the end zone untouched for the score.

Gore ran 25 times for 57 yards and became the ninth player in National Football League history to record 3,000 carries. If the Browns really are better, if they really are ready to make the always hard jump from being the worst team in the league to ONE OF the worst teams in the league, there should be some signs evident in the team's play in the next three games. Johnson left briefly in the first half but returned in the second half.

A good deal of positivity for a Browns victory stems from the fact that the Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is not going to play. They were joined on the inactive list by two draft picks - running back Marlon Mack (shoulder) and cornerback Quincy Wilson (knee).

WR Kamar Aiken, S Darius Butler, CB Chris Milton, and TE Brandon Williams are all in the questionable region.

Browns: Return home for the first time since the season opener to face cross-state rival Cincinnati. Next week is a lot tougher, however, as the Colts head to Seattle. Sep.
