The United States extended sanctions relief for Iran last week as part of the agreement, which President Donald Trump has described as "the worst deal ever".

"The ballistic missile that was sacked by Iran is not only a a provocation and a slap in the face for the United States and its allies - and an attempt to test them - but also further proof of the Iranian ambitions to become a world power and threaten countries in the Middle East all the the countries of the free world", Liberman said in a statement. That is what it is striving for.

On Thursday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has final say on all major policies in Iran, said Trump's "cheap, ugly, foolish and unreal" remarks before the U.N. General Assembly were a sign of desperation. It also carried in-flight video from the nose cone. The report did not give the time or location of the test.

Rouhani said Iran would strengthen its missile capabilities without asking for any country's permission.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard has unveiled its latest ballistic missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers - about 1,250 miles- capable of reaching much of the Middle East, including Israel.

That makes them only medium-range but still sufficient to reach Israel or U.S. bases in the Gulf.

The United States claims that Iran's missile tests and rocket launches violate UN Resolution 2231, which was adopted in July 2015 to endorse the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.

Trump has threatened to bin the nuclear agreement altogether, saying Iran is developing missiles that may be used to deliver a nuclear warhead when the deal's restrictions are lifted in 2025.

Fitzpatrick agrees it would be a good idea to extend the Iran nuclear deal to include ballistic missiles. If he decides that it is not, it could open the way for renewed United States sanctions and perhaps the collapse of the agreement.

Trump said this week he has reached a decision on the nuclear deal, but hasn't revealed what it is, Reuters reported.

- Trump recently called Iran a bogus nation of dictators hiding behind the mask of Democracy.

He added, "Whether you like it or not we are going to help Syria, Yemen and Palestine, and we will strengthen our missiles".
