Instagram Stories: Users can get lots more views with new Facebook tie

Instagram stories now has a polling option.

The option to share to Facebook will automatically be selected when you click share to your Instagram story, but you can unselect it if you don't want to double share - quite like double dipping it depends on who you are friends with.

Facebook first began testing this feature out in Portugal last month.

After testing in Portugal last month, the option to syndicate Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories has now also appeared for US users.

Whether you're trying to plan tomorrow's trip, choosing which outfit to take or figuring out where to go for shopping; now it's easy to share a two-option poll right in your Story. Facebook has confirmed that Instagram users can show share their Stories directly on Facebook easily.

The move appears to be part of Facebook's larger attempt to bring the success its had with Stories features on other platforms to company's flagship social network.

Initially, users could only share to friends or groups of friends. Check that, and it will be automatically cross-posted to Facebook Stories ... But its safe to say that this feature might be included in future updates.

Critics have largely called it a failure, and user ship has been so low that in April the company began displaying grayed-out icons in the Stories section of the app to make it seem less empty.

Having said that, one advantage of being able to share Instagram Stories directly on Facebook is that it would save time as users won't have to manually keep uploading it on Facebook.
