Following the early reveal by retailers (whoops!), Capcom has now officially announced Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, which brings the long-awaited Arcade Mode to the game.

Street Fighter V released on February 16, 2017 for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4.

"Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition" will have new V-trigger moves for each character in it.

The updated version will be available digitally and physically in North America and Europe for a recommended retail price of $39.99. Other features also include a new gallery of images and concept art, all of the characters from Season 1 and 2, and a better menu look. However, the upcoming Arcade Edition DLC characters will still cost money or have to earned with in-game currency.

Mere hours ago, Capcom confirmed the existence of the Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition. "Choose from six different paths themed after classic Street Fighter games", the mode's description reads. In an effort to add "more variety" to each match, the company continued, it'll be adding a second V-trigger to each fighter, chosen before the start of a match. It's set to come out on January 16, 2018.

One of the biggest criticisms surrounding Street Fighter 5 at launch was its lack of content.

Releasing multiple different versions of the same game is a move that fighting fans became very exhausted of, and when Capcom announced that there would only be one version of Street Fighter 5 it was met with universal praise. These will still only be unlockable through in-game means for current players.
