The Cyclones improved to 3-2, while the Sooners fell to 4-1 and saw their College Football Playoff hopes suffer a significant setback.

Park was not with the team when it arrived in Norman on Friday.

Oklahoma had collected one of the most impressive victories in college football this season, winning at Ohio State 31-16 on September 9.

The No. 3 Sooners scored on their first four series, but a second-half fumble in the red zone, a missed field goal and a defensive meltdown led to a stunning 38-31 loss to Iowa State on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. After posting 24 points in the first half, Mayfield and company fell nearly completely silent in the third and fourth quarters, managing just one late touchdown.

Through the season's first month, Oklahoma looked like a sure bet to play in the title game and was pointed toward the CFP.

For Iowa State, this was a monumental triumph, among the greatest in program history. Iowa State coach Matt Campbell said he is not certain of a timeline for Park's return, noting that he can not discuss medical issues.

Park did not travel with the team for Saturday's game against Oklahoma, Tommy Birch of The Des Moines Register reports. Both Noland and Kempt have played limited snaps this season late in the fourth quarter, but neither has completed a pass with Noland being the only one attempting one.
