Snapchat users are getting a brand new feature within the popular app called Context Cards.

Snapchat will also make it easier to book ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft - when you click on directions, for example, you'll be presented with an option to book a auto.

To view a Context Card, Snapchat says you need to swipe up on a Snap that says "More" at the bottom.

Snaps included in Context Cards are those that have been tagged with Snapchat's venue-specific geofilters or any post that has been submitted to the Our Story section.

Initial partners include TripAdvisor, Foursquare, Michelin, OpenTable and Bookatable but the company has not disclosed how it plans to make money from the new feature.

They're essentially adverts, which are created to display information about businesses, venues and places, and make it easier for you to visit or make a booking with them.

Snap says it aims to always show you the most relevant information.

Depending on the Snap you want more information on you can also see extended reviews from customers, directions to the venue, opening hours, contact numbers, modes of transport to get there, reservations options, link to the venue's website and more public Snaps from that location.

The Snapchat Support page on Twitter has admitted that its users had complained of having issues with the app, and that they were looking into the problem.

And the firm is confident that as it learns more about how to improve Context Cards, it will be adding more partners and additional information.

The first Context Card that appears will contain basic information like the name of the place, category of venue (i.e. department store or restaurant), and partner's rating, for example.
