Sadly, however, another project in development, Gigantic, has been cancelled by the studio. Big had Frozen's songwriters on board to pen original tunes for the movie, while Inside Out co-writer Meg LeFauve and Tangled director Nathan Greno were co-directing it. "With Gigantic, we've come to that point, and although it's a hard decision, we are ending active development for now".

Catmull also mentions that Disney will be focusing on "another project that has been in the works, which we'll be sharing more about soon, now set for Thanksgiving 2020".

Catmull's statement confirms that another project will replace Gigantic's original release date.

Aside from Gigantic, Disney is now in development on three animated feature films: Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 scheduled for a 2018 release, Frozen 2 for 2019, and an untitled feature for 2021.

Houston's Al Green files impeachment articles against Trump
Green initially said he planned to file the resolution last week, but he postponed it after the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Since the House, like the Senate, is majority Republican, it's unlikely Green's resolution will get enough votes to pass.

Giants' Brandon Marshall To Undergo Season Ending Surgery
After that, the No. 1 wideout is Roger Lewis, who was the only available wide receiver during the game on Sunday. This has to be one of the worst years in Giants history, and we're only five games into the season.

Despite Walt Disney Animation Studios being at the top of their game this decade, not everything in their lineup is smooth sailing. "Gigantic" was originally set for release November 25, 2020, but the studio have cited "hitting a creative wall" as the reason for the project's death. Other projects like King of the Elves and Newt are now inactive titles for Disney, but with the way Disney puts their own spin of classic fairytales, I was pretty much looking forward to what they had in store for huge.

No details yet on which film will take Gigantic's place in the lineup, though the report notes that it is another original feature.

If you've ever heard the long and gruelling process The Emperor's New Groove went through, this kind of cancellation should come as no surprise.

With animation being such a painstakingly detailed process, Disney's upcoming releases - including Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 and Frozen 2 - have been in the works for years.
