Coach Ben McAdoo confirmed the news Monday, saying Odell Beckham Jr. will have surgery on his broken left ankle sometime this week and his 2017 season is over.

The Giants did not say that Beckham will miss the rest of the season, but that seems likely given the severity of the injury and the extended recovery and rehab time that is coming Beckham's way.

The Giants lost four wide receivers to injury against the Chargers, as Dwayne Harris broke a foot and Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall both left the game with ankle injuries.

"I spoke to him after the game", McAdoo said.

Then Beckham was hurt, and suddenly their winless record wasn't the Giants' biggest problem.

The Giants have also ruled LB Jonathan Casillas (burner) and S Landon Collins (ankle) as day-to-day.

Beckham was carted off of the field after suffering a fractured ankle in the fourth quarter of the loss.

The slew of injuries to the wide receiving corps has also led the Giants to re-sign Tavarres King to the active roster and promote Travis Rudolph from the practice squad. Some Giants fans are hoping the team will bring back Victor Cruz.

Beckham Jr landed awkwardly underneath Howard and snapped his ankle, leaving his team - already short-staffed after losing three other receivers earlier on - to lose 27-22.
