Former Cleveland Browns and Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon said in an extended video Tuesday that he's been "enabled" most of his life, given multiple chances for his substance-related issues because of his ability. He was conditionally reinstated a year ago and allowed to be in training camp and play preseason games.

Completing his fourth known rehab stint, a 90-day program, Gordon has been staying in Gainesville, Fla., with his business manager while training with a former Olympic sprinter, Tim Montgomery, in hopes of returning to the NFL.

One regent, however, told the "Violated" authors that the lack of random tests instead fostered a permissive attitude and "the underlying message to them is, 'Hey, the rules don't apply to you'". I had a bunch of good gourmet meals and took a little break and then got right back to work.

His best season was in 2013 when he caught 87 passes for a league-high 1,646 yards and scored nine touchdowns.

The most eye-opening moment of the documentary involves a Baylor coach assisting Gordon to cheat a drug test following a marijuana possession arrest.

Gordon truly does sound remorseful and intent on getting his life back on track, but this is more startling news about Baylor following other recent scandals. They're not going to let you keep playing.

Gordon said one of his Baylor coaches gave him bottles of "detox" drink to help mask drugs in his system before taking a drug test.

"He showed me how to drink them, showed me how to take them".

"I got suspended for the entire year and after that it kind of all came in from all angles, different fans, everybody kind of was like, 'Oh, you're a piece of s-t, you're a drug addict, you're a junkie, whatever, you're alcoholic".

"And then just something click in my head at that point, it's like 'man, you did it again".

In the video, Gordon characterized his first rehab stint in 2014 as a "publicity stunt", but said he had an epiphany this past summer. "You're willing to throw away everything you ever worked hard for, everything you ever had out of life, '" he said. He performed well, but was suspended indefinitely due to a failed drug test.

He also praised National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell, saying Goodell has been a mentor "in a way he may not even understand".
