His account with Airbnb had been active for two years, according to Bourque, and Starnes said he noticed that Natt had more than 40 reviews on the hospitality service's website.

Police said on Monday that a man put his townhouse up an Airbnb, but the home was loaded with hidden cameras, according to a WFTS report. They took a closer look and found that it contained a hidden camera pointed directly at their bed. This winter, a Korean couple also found a camera hidden in a smoke detector in Japan Airbnb rental, and a Chinese couple found a similar device in a Taiwan Airbnb rental.

Police have already seized hard drives, computers, and SD cards.

Starnes told WFTS that he's certain the camera captured footage of him naked.

The landlord, a man named Wayne Natt, was arrested on October 3 and, according to an Ars Technica report, charged with one count of video voyeurism.

Starnes said he works in the tech world and saw a dark opening in favor of the smoke indicator.

"I suspect there are other victims, it's just a matter of identifying them or not", said Lt. Bourque.

"My wife and I are distressed by this situation".

One of the biggest reason as to why this polynya remains so mysterious is that it's quite hard to explore such areas. Experts believe that the Weddell polynya might a part of some cyclical process but they lack clear details.

Starnes shared a photo from the device with news organizations saying it might help other people recognize the room and come forward if they were unwittingly recorded.

Bourque was one of the officers who responded to the condo at Cedars Court.

Police say Natt told them everyone knew he had hidden cameras in his condo for sex parties he threw.

"[Natt] says that everyone videoed had knowledge he was videoing them".

"He said it was for recording sexual activity, and his only response was it gave him a better angle", said Bourque.

Airbnb put out a statement saying they are outraged and they have permanently banned Natt from their community. Natt has since been released on bond. What we said to that was... if individuals are consenting to recording sexual action why is it covered up in a smoke caution? Our team has reached out to local law enforcement to aid them with their investigation of this egregious offence and we hope justice is served.

"We take privacy issues extremely seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy against this behavior", Breit continued.
